The family of Nhi would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support. Nhi passed away this day October 21, 2010.
We received a phone call this morning at 6:45am from an Uncle in Viet Nam and then later from Thom (Nhi’s Aunt) about Nhi’s passing.
Please continue to pray for the family as they mourn the loss of Nguyen Hoang Xuan Nhi.

There was an obstruction in the tube that removes the water from Nhi’s brain, therefor she needed another surgery on Saturday. She’s in recovery under Doctors care after a long surgery.
Nhi had a fever this morning and her body had a convulsion. Nhi was moved to 512 Hospital in Binh Duong. The Doctors checked Nhi over and said that she epileptic seizure and they need to check with Hospital 1 on her status
Mai received a call today and on the other end was her cousin and she sounded sad. After Mai started asking her what was wrong and already dreading what terrible news awaited her about Nhi, the other end started laughing.
Since mid August, after her surgery, Nhi has not spoken one word. These past few weeks she’s asked what she would like to eat but there is never a reply back……….. well………. until TODAY! Nhi replied, “Noodles”.
A few weeks back I sent an email to WBCL Mid Morning Team and Jamie Bennett (Producer) replied to my email along with a prayer…
Thanks so much for your email. I recall the Mid-Morning you mentioned…it was aired on July 30th and our guest Shelly Beach talked about the 7 year old girl with the brain tumor in her discussion with Char. Thanks so much for sharing your story with us and how we can be in prayer for Nhi. May the Lord comfort you and strengthen you as you minister to her and her family from afar. And may the Lord’s healing hand rest upon Nhi today. We’ll keep her in our prayers.

After weeks of sending Jamie email updates she sent me a link that they had just put up on WBCL’s website, PrayerWorks. I posted a prayer request and each day I look forward to seeing an email that someone out there has said a prayer for Nhi and then tonight I hear about “NOODLES”.

Nhi is back at home, she’s been there for 4 days now and is waiting for her treatment. Lam says she looks better and can chew and swallow food on her own; though she still has a tube running through her nose for eating. And there is a lot less crying.
Lam somehow got the MRI and CT scans after all these weeks. Nhi never did get her treatments that she needed at Cho Ray; however she is at a different hospital in Saigon; a Cancer Hospital.
She was looked at and they are giving her medication to reduce the pain that she is in. The Cancer Hospital is overcrowded just like Cho Ray was, so Nhi is currently staying at another relatives house that lives in Saigon.
Lam has sent the MRI and CT scans to Ha Noi to some doctors to look at Hopefully we’ll hear back soon.

Nhi has a Medulloblastoma brain tumor.
She needs around 27 radiology treatments. However she was told to go back home until she will listen to the doctor so he can perform the treatments.
A few days later and Nhi is still home and in a lot of pain; which they are giving her some medicine for it. He is not sure whether she can get any treatment done because of her health. However he finally got her MRI and CT film from the hopital and is sending to other hospitals to see if they can help Nhi.
Today the doctor was there to look Nhi over. He asked Nhi to put her head down between her legs but she would not listen to him. Nhi was very upset and would not listen to anyone today. Kim Anh asked if Nhi could be given a shot to calm her down or put her to sleep so they could begin treatments but the Doctor said no.
He will see Nhi again tomorrow. Praying that Nhi will listen and be able to do ask the Doctor asks.
Nhi is at Cho Ray Hospital once again. Today was suppose to be a treatment day, however the Doctor didn’t show up. The Doctor must still be on holiday from the weekend.
Keep the family in prayers. Kim Anh can’t leave Nhi’s side without Nhi crying. Grandma is there taking care of food preparations and daily household chores. Khanh, the father, is in recovery with a broken hand.
